GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
FOR WORKERS AND SUPERVISORS:
AOE SAFETY POLICY:
The aim is to prevent
accident and injuries and eliminate all dangerous
working conditions.
To create a healthy
working places and ensures the personnel's safety.
Training courses must be
held such that all personnel are capable of doing the
job right and well aware of the risks and hazards
involved.
GENERAL:
1.
All employees must
respect the rules for hygiene and safety.
2.
All employees must get
detailed training regarding their duties and the safety
procedures to follow.
3.
All employees should
wear appropriate PPE for the work involved.
4.
All employees should
follow the safety procedures.
5.
Alcohol, drugs and Qat
consumption is forbidden during working hours.
6.
All kinds of armed
weapons are not allowed within the camp.
VEHICLE TRANSPORT:
1.
Each vehicle has a
limited number of passengers defined by the number of
seats equipped with seat belts.
2.
All light and 4 WD truck
must be equipped with roll bars.
3.
Every passenger must
remain seated with the seat belts fastened, even on
short trips.
4.
Smoking is forbidden in
fuel transporting and explosive trucks.
5.
Smoking is not allowed
during re- fuelling, and the engine should be switched
off.
6.
Driving by night is not
recommended.
7.
It is not allowed to
stay under a vehicle unless it is the only way to get
shadow in case of breakdown or lost vehicle.
8.
Incase of fire,
breakout, stop engine, isolate the battery, Attempt to
combat the fire with the extinguisher or sand.
9.
Drivers of long range
vehicle (define as going upon the effective range of the
VHF repeater) have to take an SSB radio tested prior to
be taken.
10.
Sometimes, drivers give
help to the mechanic at the workshop, they must not
perform tasks for which they are not trained or
equipped. It is forbidden to watch at the electrical
welding, as it is highly dangerous for eyes.
PRECATIONS TO BE
TAKEN:
1.
Remain alert at all
times.
2.
Slow down upon the
approach to junctions, bends, brows of hills, obstacles
in the road, and oncoming vehicle on a narrow section of
road.
3.
Keep your distance from
the vehicle ahead.
4.
Do not stop in areas
without visibility. (Bends, hills etc.)
5.
Firearms must be checked
to be sure that no cartridge is engaged.
6.
Never park vehicle near
vibrators or bull dozers.
7.
Keep a distance of 10
meters around all hydraulic machines.
